1550 Diamond Drill Rig | Safer, Smarter, Stronger Posted on January 21, 2025May 29, 2025 by georgia The future of diamond drilling is here — and it’s bold, safe, and operator-focused. Ausdrill’s new 1550TH Diamond Drill Rig is redefining industry standards with a caged barrier system, AI-enhanced safety zones, and remote operation via Cortex™ software. Designed from the ground up for performance and protection, the 1550TH takes on tough ground without compromising on safety or speed. With 9 meters of mast travel and a powerful electric-over-hydraulic setup, the rig delivers 9-meter rod pulls in a single pass. Whether collaring, pulling rods, or relocating between sites, automation and remote monitoring streamline every part of the process. Technology That Works for People We spoke to Operations Supervisor Jesse Herbert about how the 1550TH is changing the field experience. Built with feedback from drillers, this rig prioritises visibility, safety, and simplicity — even for newer operators. From AI-enabled exclusion zones to hands-free operation and simplified training, the 1550TH is built for those who do the work. Want to see innovation in softer terrain? Rock Commander Automated Sampling | A Leap in Efficiency and Safety Posted on October 6, 2020May 29, 2025 by georgia Ausdrill is proud to introduce the Rock Commander Automated Sampling and Surveying Drill Rig (RCASS). A patented reverse circulation rig that sets new standards in grade control sampling and data integrity. The RCASS is the first of its kind to deliver labour-free sampling through the RayTrac RFID sampling system. This innovation allows sampling to be programmed, executed and tracked without human supervision, saving clients time, labour, and on-site costs typically associated with manual sample collection. Automation at the Core of Sampling and Surveying Beyond automated sampling, the RCASS features the Trimble DPS900 high-precision survey guidance system, eliminating the need for traditional drill hole survey mark out and pickup. This technology streamlines operations and removes another layer of manual handling. The RCASS also includes an advanced communication module. This feature enables remote monitoring and real-time data sharing, connecting the rig to offices anywhere in the world and helping stakeholders make quicker, data-driven decisions. A Milestone in Ausdrill’s Ongoing Innovation The Rock Commander Automated Sampling rig marks a pivotal milestone in Ausdrill’s continuous journey toward safer, more efficient drilling. It lays the foundation for future innovations, including today’s Auto Sampler system and integrated remote drilling solutions.
